1. Overview
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to any optional in-app purchase or auto-renewing subscription offered in PDF Reader: Scan, Edit & Sign (the “App”) by TechKhedut Inc. (“TechKhedut”, “we”, “our” or “us”), purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play (together, “paid features”). It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. The App itself is free to download.
In short: payments are non-refundable once a purchase is made or a billing period has started, except in the exceptional cases listed below. You can cancel a subscription at any time to stop the next renewal, and you keep the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
2. At a glance
- No refunds on paid periodsCharges for a purchase or a started subscription period are final.
- Exceptions onlyRefunds are considered only in the exceptional cases in section 5.
- Cancel anytimeCancel in your App Store or Google Play account before the next renewal.
- Keep what you paid forPaid features stay active until your current paid period ends.
3. How billing works
- Paid features may be sold as a one-time in-app purchase or as an auto-renewing subscription. The price and, for a subscription, the billing period (for example, monthly or yearly) are shown in the App and in the store before you confirm your purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period and your store account is charged for the next period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- All payments are processed by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your card or bank details.
4. No refunds on purchases
When you buy a paid feature or start or renew a subscription, you get immediate access to it. For this reason, all charges are final and non-refundable once the purchase is made or the billing period has started, including:
- one-time in-app purchases;
- the first payment for a new subscription;
- automatic renewal payments;
- payments taken when a free trial converts into a paid subscription.
We do not provide refunds, credits or partial refunds for:
- unused time left in a billing period, including when you cancel partway through it;
- forgetting to cancel before a renewal or before a free trial ended;
- deleting the App without cancelling the subscription;
- not using the App or its paid features during the period;
- changing your mind after purchase;
- documents that are lost because they were deleted from your device or not backed up, as described in our Terms & Conditions.
You can try the App's free features before buying and, where offered, use a free trial to evaluate paid features before you are charged.
5. Exceptional cases
We will review a refund request only in the following exceptional cases:
- Duplicate charge: you were charged more than once for the same purchase or subscription period.
- Charged after a valid cancellation: you cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date but were still charged for the next period.
- Paid features not working due to our fault: features you paid for did not work because of a technical problem on our side, you reported it to us, and we were unable to fix it or restore your access within a reasonable time. Please try Restore Purchases in the App first.
- Unauthorised purchase: the purchase was made without your permission, for example by a child or someone else using your device, and you report it promptly.
- Required by law: a refund is required under consumer laws that apply to you.
Each request is reviewed case by case. Meeting one of these cases does not guarantee a refund, and any approved refund may be full or partial depending on the circumstances.
6. How to request an exceptional refund
Please contact us first. Most problems with access to paid features, such as a purchase not showing after reinstalling the App or switching devices, can be fixed quickly without a refund.
Email support@techkhedut.com with:
- the store you purchased from (Apple App Store or Google Play);
- your order ID from the store receipt email (Apple order IDs usually start with “M”, Google Play order IDs with “GPA.”);
- the purchase or renewal date;
- which exceptional case applies and a short description of the problem.
Because payments are processed by the stores:
- Google Play: if we approve your request, we will issue the refund through Google Play.
- Apple App Store: Apple processes all App Store refunds and we cannot issue them directly. If your case qualifies, we will tell you how to submit the request to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Apple and Google make their own decisions on refund requests submitted to them under their own policies.
7. Cancel before your next renewal
You can cancel a subscription at any time. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before your current period ends. Because billing is managed by Apple and Google, you need to cancel through your store account. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
iPhone or iPad (Apple App Store)
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then PDF Reader.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Android (Google Play)
- Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select PDF Reader, tap Cancel subscription and follow the steps.
8. After you cancel
- Cancelling stops future renewals only. It does not refund the current period.
- You keep full access to paid features until the end of your current paid period, up to your renewal date. No further charges are made.
- When the paid period ends, the App returns to its free features. Your PDFs, folders, bookmarks, scans, signatures and settings stay on your device.
- You can subscribe again at any time.
9. If a refund is granted
- When Apple or Google refunds a payment, the store revokes that purchase or subscription, and your access to the related paid features ends immediately, including any days left in that period. Your documents are not affected.
- The same applies if a payment is reversed through a chargeback with your bank or card provider.
- We may limit access to paid features on accounts where refunds or chargebacks are repeatedly requested after those features have been used.
10. Free trials & price changes
- If a free trial is offered, it converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The payment taken at conversion is covered by section 4.
- If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged.
- If a subscription price changes, Apple or Google will notify you as their rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies to your next renewal.
11. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by agreement. If you live in a country whose laws give you a right to cancel or to a refund, for example in the European Union or the United Kingdom, those rights apply alongside this policy and may be handled by Apple or Google under their terms.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Changes do not affect payments made before the update.
